It seems my FS hibernation only lasted a little over a month, the urge to get back into the cockpit is just too great but I did need this short break, now FS feels so much more pleasurable. For starters, I take it slowly, I just did a couple tests with the good ol' Fokker F27, which I intend to fly next. Did my best to fire it up as realistically as possible from cold and dead, and perform the climb out, just as realistic. I guess I did pretty good, considering I've hibernated for over a month

I've backdated my FS (mainly AI traffic) and from now on until...some point in the future, I intend to go RETRO and only fly in the 80s, this is something I've been wanting to do for about a year or so. Long time since I last flew the oldies....I even got myself a new joystick (get ready to be amazed ) to use from now on. Till I'm truly back in the air, here's a few insights into my short test flight with the Friendship; cold and dead...I mean cold and dark startup followed by departure from Debrecen, Hugary:

    All well

I'm already engulfed by that rewarding feeling one experiences upon getting everything right on a complex simulation (such as this wonderful freeware F27 by Fraser McKay)

    Hello dear air colleagues,
As you may have noticed, my FS activity, here on FSK, as well as on the other FS communities I enjoy, has reduced to almost...no activity at all. Just wanted to let you know I'm still alive but I'm taking an indefinite break from flight simulation, I feel like I need to refresh my mind a bit and that FS is gonna be much more fun after some time off. You can read more here about what determined me to take this break, but keep in mind that this was just the spark that lit the fire...so to speak...I would've needed this pause anyway. I'll still be around during my FS hibernation, albeit I'll keep a low profile So, till I'm back, hold my seat in the cockpit and have a great time in the air, both simulated and real!

    Happy flights!
    Dorel

I thought I might let folks here know I had the intention of building some good looking retro traffic out of existent elements, made by others...ditched the idea eventually Read more here. I guess I for one am stuck with the awesome (NOT) looking models from MyTraffic 2006 when I want retro traffic...

After experiencing with my FS2004 (ATC won't respond at all or won't respond when I ask for certain things) I got really angry and decided to uninstall FS2004 and give it (and myself) a nice break. Said and done! Only that...I found myself reinstalling FS the next day. The reason I got so is because the majority of simmers describe their FS9 experience to be a very stable one, I on the other side, experience quite a lot of , in most cases, I can fix it, sometimes I find the cause and a solution, sometimes only the solution and sometimes all I can do is to reinstall FS and hope that he issue won't come back. Dunno why the heck ATC played dead with me (happened on last 2 IFR flights)...searched the net and found a bunch of FS9ers experiencing more or less the same problem, but I haven't found a clear cause let alone a solution for it. Hope the reinstall fixed it, if not, the hell with it.

I have the sense that the humanity tends to adopt the worst possible services and products as universal, when it comes to IT, PC and so on - Microsoft is one of the most faulty operating systems...people made it the ULTIMATE OS choice; Skype is one of the least attractive/featured internet videocall providers (plus, it has some privacy issues as far as I know, your IP is not that hard to be found out)...people made it the ULTIMATE net videocall service; YouTube is probably the most flawed video sharing website with one of the least stable video-playing experiences..people made it the ULTIMATE video sharing platform (THESE ARE MY PERSONAL VIEWS) and I tend to believe the same applies to flight sims, we all love MSFS (including me) but what if this is just another case of the worst product being universally adopted? What if developers would massively start developing (the way they do for MSFS) for X-Plane (a superior FS..and more stable...I guess)? Just a thought...

Anyways, wish me luck with my new install or else...................I'll start
