Two new jewels joined the fleet of Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta: a 757-200 in the classic DAL livery and a DC-9-50 featuring its retirement livery, both STUNNING!!
The sadness accompanied by an a/c type's retirement is unquestionable, as is the immense joy if it were for it to fly again...but...personally (and I know I'm far from being the only one) I'm delighted to see a few of these frames going to the museum where they're about to be preserved in one piece, "shining new" instead of seeing them all being scrapped to pieces, precious aviation history lost, and the folks at Delta Flight Museum are doing a fantastic job!
